Upright Coldframe (solid cedar)

A solid western red cedar cold frame which is a most attractive free standing unit. Essentially, this is a 'mini greenhouse' that can be used for propagating, seed-starting and growing-on plants such as basil, tomatoes and chillies. It can be placed against a sunny wall or a hedge and will enhance any patio, terrace or even balcony. This coldframe is supplied with two shelves that can be positioned at heights suitable for whatever plants you choose to grow. It also has a hinged lid for ventilation in the warmer months of the year. Sliding doors on aluminium runners, stainless steel fixings, toughened glass and superior quality construction. These coldframes are hand built in the UK by professional joiners using Western red cedar, which provides outstanding strength in adverse conditions, as well as excellent weather resistance. Cedar is a naturally oily wood, making it inherently rot resistant. Untreated, it weathers to a beautiful silvery grey, but if you want to preserve its rich colour it will need treating from time to time. FSC certified timber.
