An excellent grass seed for an easily maintained, all-purpose lawn - ideal for family gardens. Fast establishing but with relatively slow re-growth. It is recommended for areas that are frequently used by children and pets. This hard wearing lawn is quick to establish. Its durability comes from the high quality ryegrass that will tolerate low mowing, and will tolerate light shade as well as sunny areas. The Slug X attracts slug and snails using beer as bait. A strong smell builds up inside the trap and the slugs/snails are lured inside by an aroma that they find irresistible! Once inside, they become disorientated and, unable to exit the trap, fall into one of three drowning wells. It  consists of a base featuring three drowning wells and four ‘funnelled’ access  points. A tight-fitting lid ensures that fumes from the beer generate quickly to attract slugs/snails to their doom. The Slug X can clear affected areas of slugs. Independent testers from The Daily Telegraph caught 147 slugs in just one night! It really does work. Unlike many other slug traps on the market which are designed to be semi buried, the Slug X  is fully portable and can be moved from place to place. It is also important to stress that unlike many other slug control methods, such as slug pellets, the Slug X does not use poison. Poisoned slugs are often eaten by birds and hedgehogs. The Slug X will not cause harm to other wildlife and it is made from recycled polypropylene.

John Innes composts are soil and grit-based composts, ideal for re-potting of mature vegetables, foliage plants, trees and shrubs. The number refers to the nutrient content, and Number 2 is a general mix suitable for most purposes. John Innes composts are heavier than non-loan-based composts, dry out less and retain nutrients longer than ordinary peat-based composts.  Not suitable for lime-hating (ericaceous) plants. 25 L

We call this stuff 'rocket fuel', and have used it as a general fertiliser for several years. Scattered thinly over beds once or twice a year, it keeps plants and soil healthy. It's also perfect for top-dressing pots and keeping plants in containers in tip-top condition - simply work a small handful into the top inch of the compost. It's a well-balanced fertiliser which encourages leaf and flower development, and is particularly beneficial at the time of planting.
