Horse manure - 'Gee-up' (Dublin and Wicklow only)

Horse manure - 'Gee-up' (Dublin and Wicklow only)

Weed-free, odourless, screened mature horse manure - the perfect mulch or top-dressing. Using manure as a mulch or soil improver stabilises soil temperatures, keeps down weeds, looks great, prevents evaporation and increases fertility. Perfect for reviving gardens with dry, dusty or infertile soil and essential for city gardens where soil requires additional organic matter. It is one of the best sources of nutrients and humus to maintain healthy fertile plants. It is dark brown, heavy, friable, 100% weed-free and completely odourless. Ideal as a mulch, a potting mix (can be used instead of potting compost) or for double-digging.  Read more about gee-up on their website....

"It's lovely stuff, doesn't smell of manure, is pleasant to touch, satisfying to use and adds instant texture, life and bulk to poor, thin and neglected soils. I gave some to my precious paeony....  and it seemed to leap out of the ground to meet it, and now I'm off to give some to the fruit, in particular the gooseberries, raspberries, currants and rhubarb, which could not have a greater treat!" Helen Rock, Sunday Tribune

"Rural gardeners will have no problem sourcing animal manure but those in city and town will find an excellent product in that graded and shredded horse manure sold as Gee-up. It neither smells nor looks unpleasant, it spreads easily and because it is dark brown and crumbly, gives a very professional looking finish wherever applied." Charlie Wilkins, Irish Examiner

40 L bag. €5.00 delivery charge on any Gee-up delivery.

Irish-grown, kiln-dried hardwood firewood logs (11 kg bag)

Irish-grown, kiln-dried hardwood firewood logs (11 kg bag)

Hotlogs! Kiln-dried Irish-grown hardwood logs. These are, quite simply logs as they should be: absolutely done dry, hardwood, moisture-free, Irish-grown, sustainably harvested, insect and mould-free. They light with complete ease and burn with truly intense heat. These convenient bags of Hotlogs weigh about 11kgs and provide enough firewood for one to two fires - a brilliant and more sustanaible alternative to peat briquettes. They are split in 20 - 22 cms length, ideal for the majority of household fireplaces and stoves. These logs have been kiln-dried to between 10% - 15% moisture content, and include Ash, Oak, sycamore and Beech. They will generate a considerably higher heat output than conventional firewood, will keep your oven glass clean, produce no tar in your flue and also less ash - essential for anyone with a modern wood-burning stove or who wants to be really warm.

Some solid fuel suppliers are currently importing firewood products from Europe and elsewhere, which negates the environmental benefits of using a renewable, local fuel source. Our logs are produced by Irish foresters and forest owners committed to sourcing firewood from sustainably managed Irish forests. Also available in bulk bags, equivalent to approximately 75bags. €7.50 charge per delivery.

This item available in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow only.

Kiln-dried, Irish grown hardwood firewood logs (Bulk load)

Kiln-dried, Irish grown hardwood firewood logs (Bulk load)

Irish grown hardwood kiln dried firewood logsKiln dried, ultra-low moisture, Irish grown hardwood firewood logs - unlike anything you have used before. Delivery is nationwide and is absolutely free, generally within 2 working days of ordering.

These logs are essential for modern stoves as they do not create tar than can damage the flue or blacken glass windows. They are vastly more efficient than logs which are simply 'dry'. Our Irish-grown hardwood logs have been dried to between 10 - 15% moisture content, and include Ash, Oak, Sycamore and Beech. They are split into 20-22 cms lengths in order to fit the majority of fireplaces and stoves. Because of their exceptionally low moisture content they are easy to light, easy to store, are mould and insect-free and burn for longer and with far greater heat than other logs. They should be kept dry, indoors or outdoors.  These logs (sold in smaller bags under the name 'Hotlogs') are dried in a kiln to literally cook the moisture out of them and will generate a considerably higher heat output than conventional firewood. They are produced from sustainably managed Irish forests. Bewarre - some kiln-dried logs on the market are actually imported, negating the valuable benefits of a local and sustainable fuel source.

A bulk load of our logs comes in a tightly packed, solid 1.2m3 bag (weight approx 750 - 800 kg, but please note, these logs are deliberately light because they are so dry). This is enough logs to keep a fire or stove busy for between a couple of months and the entire winter, depending on usage. (Also available in handy 11kg bags) . Logs are generally delivered within 2 working days of ordering - from Dingle to Donegal. You will be called by a courier in advance of the delivery. We do not load your shed for you but do our best to get it to a convenient location - we recommend storing your logs under cover. (Firewood item no.1)

"Just to let you know, I received the logs and was absolutely delighted! I couldn’t believe how many there were or how well they burn. Will definitely be in touch when they get low. Thanks and Merry Christmas". J Quinn, Sandymount, Dublin 4

"Logs terrific. Just as promised." B.O'Rourke, Newbridge, Co. Kildare
