Fig 'Brown Turkey'

Eating fresh figs, ripe from the plant, is one of life's great pleasures.  The variety 'Brown Turkey' is the best choice for experiencing that pleasure here in Ireland. The fruits ripen in late August and are best picked once they begin to droop on the stalk. They should be grown in a sheltered spot in full sun. Training them against a south facing wall in a fan-like arrangement works very well. Figs should always have their roots constricted in order to encourage better fruiting - ie line the planting hole with slate or blocks. 2L container.
