This pure bark mulch is suitable for most garden surfaces, including perennial beds where keeping down weeds is an important factor. It is dark brown and suitable for use in any garden. For best results, apply after planting or to freshen up beds where soil is exposed. Fine-grade mulch binds together well and will not blow about. It will allow rainfall to reach the soil but will prevent weed development. It looks good, stabilises soil temperatures and maintains moist soil during dry spells. Ideal for flower beds and shrub beds. One cubic metre will cover approximately 25 sq m to a depth of 4-5 cms. Delivered in 1 or 3 cubic metre sacks, making it great value, tidy and efficient - much better value than buying individual bags. An all-purpose bark mulch suitable for most garden surfaces - often referred to as 'mini-chip'. Chestnut pale fencing is a traditional garden or farm fence, suitable for keeping pets or poultry out of (or in) your garden, and the pales are considerably closer than some chestnut paling fences. It is strong, durable, easy to erect and difficult to climb over. It weathers to an attractive neutral colour and lasts without treatment for decades. It should be fixed to sturdy, long-lasting posts every 2.5 - 3 metres apart.

This decorative gravel, traditionally known as drainage pebble, makes a handsome and economical pebble or gravel for gardens, and is used for parking areas or small paths. Because it is large (200 mm average size) it tends to stay in the same place and make a most attractive path or walkway. Full of natural colours and textures, and especially attractive when wet. Please note, it may be dirty upon delivery and requires heavy rain / rinsing to remove these natural deopsits of sand and silt. 1 ton of gravel covers approximately 20 - 25 square metres to a depth of 25 - 30 mm. Gravel is laid over a base of compacted 'dust' or 'blinding grit'. This is a very fine version of the gravel which, when compacted, forms a hard layer. It is comprised of tiny pieces of stone of various sizes which compacts to form a solid layer. The blinding should be similar to the upper gravel so that scuffs and worn areas do not stand out. Use a vibrating plate or 'whacker' to do this, or attach a heavy board to a rake head. This layer of blinding should be applied over a weed barrier or a base of compacted rubble. It should be layed a minimum 2.5 cms deep / 1 inch. 1 ton will cover approximately 25 - 30 square metres to this depth. In some cases there is no need to apply a layer of gravel on top and the grit can make a fine, hard upper layer. A deservedly popular gravel from the Leitrim / Roscommon area, this angular, pale golden / fawn coloured gravel is extremely popular for parking areas because of its jagged shape, which beds down particularly solidly. Occasional raking will keep it looking fresh and attractive. The gravel will have some dust on it upon delivery. This is entirely natural and will wash off in the first rain. Tip: 1 ton of gravel covers 18 - 20 sq metres to a depth of 2.5cms. Beach pebble - a traditional garden gravel. From an ecological point of view, gravel drains well and allows water to permeate all parts of the soil, reducing water run-off and flash floods. It is relatively inexpensive per square metre - compared, say, to cobble-lock or paving, and is fast to install. This beach pebble is excellent for paths, walkways and driveways and has a subtle variation of colours and textures. Ideal for refreshing or topping up existing gravel areas. 1 ton of gravel covers 18 - 20 sq metres to a depth of 2.5cms. Please note, the pebble may have some dust /debris on it when delivered - this will wash off in rain or with a hose. Weed-free, odourless, screened mature horse manure - the perfect mulch or top-dressing. Using manure as a mulch or soil improver stabilises soil temperatures, keeps down weeds, looks great, prevents evaporation and increases fertility. Perfect for reviving gardens with dry, dusty or infertile soil and essential for city gardens where soil requires additional organic matter. It is one of the best sources of nutrients and humus to maintain healthy fertile plants. It is dark brown, heavy, friable, 100% weed-free and completely odourless.
