Planting and maintenance:
All these plants, except for Astelia, Iberis and Convolvulus, are flowering perennials, and should be cut back or tidied up when the foliage dies down at the end of the year. Astelia should be left untouched, except for the removal of the occasional dead leaf. Convolvulus and Iberis should also be left to its own devices. These three plants in particular do not tolerate water-logged conditions. Iberis and Convolvulus are ideal for the front of a border, or spilling over paths or walls. If there is a wetter spot in your garden, Zantedeschia and Schizostylis will cope quite well in this environment, though this isn't a requirement. A top-dressing on the soil of well-rotted manure or leaf mould would be of benefit to the soil. Water well after planting and throughout dry spells in the first year.
All planting schemes come with a planting list, planting instructions and ongoing maintenance advice.
