Brushfields Yellow camellia
Wonderful buttery, creamy pale yellow to white flowers in late spring. Camellias are elegant, classic flowering shrubs, ideal for woodland gardens, containers or sheltered spots - they are also suitable for a shy or north-facing spot. Camellias have glossy dark green leaves and an abundance of showy flowers ranging from red to pink to white to yellow in early spring. They require acid soil, light or dappled shade and shelter from strong winds. Soil should be moist, rich in organic matter and well-mulched with leaf-mould or bark mulch, and if planted in a pot should be in ericaceous compost. 'Brushfields Yellow' has double, pale-butter yellow flowers, and as it has a slightly dwarf size it makes an ideal candidate for a pot. Grown in Mount Congreve, Co Waterford.
