Acacia baileyana 'Purpurea'
Mimosa, Cootamundra wattle
Fern-like foliage in shades of purple. This very elegant small tree or large shrub has delicate, purple, fern-like leaves, and fluffy yellow flowers over the winter and spring. It should be planted only in milder parts of the country (ie near the coast) in a sheltered spot in full sun, or even in a greenhouse or conservatory. Plants which are in damp or water-logged soil or in a cold area will not thrive and eventually die. Can be trimmed lightly inlate spring to maintain a dense shape. Plant in well-drained soil in a sheltered and sunny location. Sturdy, Irish-grown plants 150 - 200cms tall in a large 15L container. This item available in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow only.

| Acacia dealbata
Mimosa, Silver wattle
Acacia dealbata is the most widely grown Acacia in Ireland - commonly known as 'Mimosa'. It is a fast-growing tree with green, fern-like foliage and powder-yellow pom-pom like flowers in spring and early summer. They are excellent when planted near the coast, but as they can grow rather fast, be prepared to cut it down to half its height within the first year or two, which will help it to mature into a more stable plant. An ideal plant for screening, but not for the very small garden as it can spread and lean over after a few years. Plant in well-drained, neutral-acid soil. 5L container.

Acacia pravissima
Oven's wattle
A small tree or large shrub with extraordinary foliage and yellow pom-pomflowers! Acacia pravissima is a good tree for a small, sheltered garden, as it has gorgeous, scented pom-pom like flowers in spring, extremely unusual triangular leaves and remains relatively compact. Acacias prefer well-drained or even dry soils, are great near the sea and require little care. As this one is fairly compact, it is less likely to blow over than some other larger Acacia species. It may be trimmed or pruned to maintain at desired size. 5L container.

Actinidia deliciosa 'Jenny' is capable of producing fruit if grown in a warm sunny location such as a south or west facing wall, but very often it is grown more for its beautiful large furry, heart-shaped leaves.
