'Konigin Charlotte' Japanese anemone
A tough and vigorous plant with lovely delicate pink blooms which bloom for weeks and weeks. Particularly tolerant of difficult conditions, including very dry soils near trees and shrubs. Does well in both sun and shade and works well as a groundcover. 2-3L pot.

| Astrantia major 'Sunningdale Variegated'
Masterwort
A lovely plant with delicate showy flowers and elegant marbled leaves. This plant works well as a foil for other more showy plants in a flower border or planted in drifts in a 'naturalistic' planting scheme. Prefers moist soil, but seems to tolerate the drier soils of Dublin. 2-3L container.

Elephants' ears
A lush looking evergreen plant with striking dark pink flowers in early spring and glossy large evergreen leaves. This plant is exceptionally tough and tolerant of even the driest of soils. It works well as a groundcover under trees and shrubs where little else will grow. 2-3L container.

| Delphinium 'Guinevere'
Delphinium
A classic garden plant with stately spikes of mauve blooms. Best placed at the back of a border as it can grow as tall as a metre and a half. The delicate shade of mauve is a perfect backdrop for more vibrant colours in the garden. Plant in sun or light shade in fertile, well-drained soil in a relatively sheltered spot. Height to150 cms. 2-3L pot.

| Paeonia 'Sarah Bernhardt'
Paeony, Peony
An exquisite Peony with large double pink, fragrant ruffled flowers which make an excellent, if short lived cut flower. Plant in humus rich, fertile and deep soil which is well-drained, moist but not waterlogged, in sun or light shade. Cut back to ground level during the winter, and top-dress the soil with well-rotted manure of garden compost. Very long-lived and robust, but can be slow to establish. 2-3L pot.

| Penstemon 'Apple Blossom'
'Apple Blossom' penstemon
A woody, bushy perennial with foxglove-like flowers from early summer to mid autumn. This variety has small pale pink tubular flowers with white throats. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Trim after blooming to encourage more flowers, and cut back lightly - but not to ground level - at the end of the year. Easily propagated by taking cuttings in early summer.

| Schizostylis coccinea 'Jennifer'
Kaffir lily
A strappy leaved perennial with cup-shaped pale pink flowers from late summer to early winter - a remarkable feature of this plant is how late in the year it flowers. Prefers fertile soil, sun or light shade and can cope - or even thrive in - moist or damp soils. Plant in a relatively sheltered spot, and mulch soil in winter with organic matter.

| Sidalcea malviflora 'Elsie Heugh'
False mallow
A perennial with large, satin-textured lilac-pink flowers in early summer. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil, and combine with other perennials of a similar colour, or with an ornamentall grass such as Miscanthus. Height to 90 cms. After flowering, cut stems back hard to prevent seed formation and encourage a second flush of flowers. Make excellent cut flowers for the home.
