| Acacia dealbata
Mimosa, Silver wattle
Acacia dealbata is the most widely grown Acacia in Ireland - commonly known as 'Mimosa'. It is a fast-growing tree with green, fern-like foliage and powder-yellow pom-pom like flowers in spring and early summer. They are excellent when planted near the coast, but as they can grow rather fast, be prepared to cut it down to half its height within the first year or two, which will help it to mature into a more stable plant. An ideal plant for screening, but not for the very small garden as it can spread and lean over after a few years. Plant in well-drained, neutral-acid soil. 5L container.

Acacia pravissima
Oven's wattle
A small tree or large shrub with extraordinary foliage and yellow pom-pomflowers! Acacia pravissima is a good tree for a small, sheltered garden, as it has gorgeous, scented pom-pom like flowers in spring, extremely unusual triangular leaves and remains relatively compact. Acacias prefer well-drained or even dry soils, are great near the sea and require little care. As this one is fairly compact, it is less likely to blow over than some other larger Acacia species. | Araucaria heterophylla
Norfolk Island pine
A close relative of the Monkey Puzzle tree, the Norfolk Island pine is a most unusual tree. It makes an ideal and striking house plant. Looking remarkably like a traditional Christmas Tree, it is indeed a needle-bearing conifer. It is not fully hardy and must be kept indoors over the winter. It can be put outside during the summer if you wish. It grows best in a bright place, near a window where it will get some direct sunlight, though it should not be in full sun all day. Remember, it will need to be rotated from time to time to keep its growth uniform. Water weekly, using a small amount of our seaweed plant food every month or so. You can stop the leaves from getting dusty by spraying them with water occasionally. Ensure that it does not sit in standing water, but also that it does not dry out completely. This really is the ultimate 'Green' or ecological Christmas tree, and is ideal for anyone who wants to keep their tree from year to year. Other 'Christmas' trees such as Fir or Spruce cannot live indoors for more than a week or two. This tree can live indoors all year round. Perfect for anyone with an apartment or smaller house - ours has been indoor for over one year now and is healthy and well. Our trees are Irish-grown, healthy, 100 - 125 cms tall in a 5 litre container, as shown on the right. Free delivery nationwide - not subject to minimum order of €50.00.
