Camellia japonica 'Commander Mulroy'
Commander Mulroy camellia
One of the most exquistite camellias. 'Commander Mulroy' is an upright and dense Camellia with double, pure-white flowers, pink in bud and early flower but fading to white. Camellias are elegant, classic flowering shrubs, ideal for woodland gardens, containers or sheltered spots. They have glossy dark green leaves and an abundance of showy flowers ranging from red to pink to white to yellow in early spring. They require acid soil, light or dappled shade and shelter from strong winds. Soil should be moist, rich in organic matter and well-mulched with leaf-mould or bark mulch, and if planted in a pot should be in ericaceous compost. It makes an excellent container or patio plant and a wonderful present for anyone who loves beautiful plants. Grown in Mount Congreve, Co Waterford. Bushy plants in 2 container sizes: Medium: 3 litre; Large: 7.5 litre.

Daphne odora
Winter-flowering daphne
As the name suggets, Daphne odora is one of the most fragrant daphnes - plant near a door or gate so you will pass it regularly. Daphnes are increasingly hard to find, making them a very special garden plant. They grow best in shade or dappled sunlight and prefer some shelter from cold winds, especially those from the east. It is an upright, branching shrub with handsome evergreen leaves. The tubular pink flowers are small and deliciously fragrant, arranged in clusters at the shoot tips, and appearing early in the year in late winter - making it a seasonally-correct Christmas gift. Plant in moist to well-drained soil in light or dappled shade. Add leaf-mould or compost to the soil to help the plants establish. Pruning not recommended. 2 litre container.

Vaccinium corymbosum
Blueberry in variety
Blueberries: delicious, nutritious and easy-to-grow in your garden or container. These blueberry bushes produce larger and sweeter berries than our native 'Frocken' plants, and these are the blueberries you see when you buy them in the shops. The shrub tolerates a wide range of soils, including clay, though it must retain some moisture all year round. They require acidic soil, so if you don't have this, plant in either a raised bed or a container where you can add peat to the soil. Plant in full sun or light shade - we have planted them around the edge of our garden. Blueberries are also very decorative, with clusters of white blossom in spring and glossy green foliage which is at its most attractive when it turns reddish-bronze in autumn. For best fruiting, plant 2 varieties nearby. Vigorous plants 30-40 cms tall in a small 9 cms container. Available November to March only. 'Blue Crop': The most popular variety in Ireland. Early to mid-season. Heavy cropper, good flavour. 'Berkeley': A spreading variety that produces a heavy crop, ripens mid-season and has good flavour.
